Welcome to St George's Hill Golf Club

I am proud and delighted to present our Club to you.

We are fortunate indeed that the vision of W G Tarrant in 1912, brought him to engage the legendry Harry S Colt to design and build a golf course of such enduring quality. It is recorded that Colt himself considered St George’s Hill to be his “ Jewel in the Crown “ and for all of us it is a gem, not only to be cherished and revered but most of all to be enjoyed. It is a challenging test of golf in the most beautiful landscape.

Bernard Darwin wrote:

“By a merciful dispensation of Providence, fir trees, sand and heather, which are beautiful things in themselves, are the ingredients from which inland courses should be made. The prettiest courses are the best and certainly one of the prettiest and best is St George’s Hill “

Some years ago, I was stopped in the Car Park by a visitor, who had just stumbled across St George’s Hill by chance and was extolling the virtues of the course to a friend. “ This has to be the most beautiful and challenging inland course in the country “

I think this is common reaction for many first time visitors. It is also the sentiments of many of us who are privileged to play St George’s Hill on a regular basis.

We have a team that are dedicated to provide Members, guests and visitors with the highest quality of enjoyment both on the Course and in the Clubhouse. We pride ourselves on providing a professional, friendly and hospitable service and an experience to savour.

To discover more about our facilities please use the links above and if you would like to visit us please contact our Secretary, John Robinson, who will be happy to provide you with any additional information you may require.
