The finishing par 4 encapsulates all that you have been through on the surprisingly tough but very enjoyable Green Nine. It requires a straight drive down a chute of trees with serious trouble waiting both sides of the fairway, which slopes a little from right to left. The second shot is over a small brow which hides a deep valley in front of the green. The green is quite wide but relatively narrow front to back. This is the only split level green on the course where the tiers slope from the back to the front instead of left and right. Anything short of the green will end up in the valley or one of the deep bunkers set into the steep slope just below the green. Too long and there is a steep uphill bank of bushes and trees waiting to stop the ball rolling back onto the putting surface. Once on the green any ball above the pin leaves a difficult fast putt; get on the wrong level and you will be surprised about the amount of borrow you have to take to complete your round.
